As I recall...
This started when I was 8 years old. Like many kids my age, I wanted to be a cop. Not for any of the cool reasons that kids act out on the playground, I actually just wanted to help people. I was taught at an early age, and still strongly believe, that being of service to others is the best thing that you could do with your life.
Teen and college summers were spent running day camps on a Native American reservation, building a school and a church in Mexico, serving the homeless population in the Bay Area, and working with the Boys and Girls clubs in Los Angeles.
After living in Europe for several years and getting the travel bug out of my system, I devoted myself to the field of psychotherapy. I was fortunate to have amazing mentors where I learned to use the time in each session to its fullest, how to set and reach goals efficiently, and the art of finding the strength within us all desipte our challanges.
I have enjoyed fulfilling positions as a clinical supervisor for therapists, a clinical assessor for the Emotional Disturbance program for the County Office of Education, a parenting/ co-parenting instructor through various community agencies, and a therapist for children and families in foster care and adoptive placements for the County Child Welfare.
I feel most proud of the work that I have been doing in my private practice since 2009. I have been working with families, children, couples and individuals and seeing them excell through tough times, improve their relationships, and reignite their passion for life.
While I find much fulfillment in my career, my most important roles are as a husband and a father of two beautiful girls. I enjoy sports, the outdoors, and traveling. I am also a lifelong Giants fan. If you root for the Dodgers, that is something that we can address in counseling.
